Further we would suggest that:
Discovering, unlocking, and living your Godly destiny will require a walk which develops the character otherwise known as being Christ-like. So, as you walk the narrow path of Godly destiny be sure that you are committed to embracing the Christ-like character necessary to finish your race well.
In this video, Adrian Rogers teaches us about Christ-like love. He offers four main points which includes:
By bringing together all of these ideas, Adrian Rogers paints a compelling picture of what it means when we speak of being Christ-like and showing the world the love of Christ. As you seek to discover, unlock, and live your Godly destiny, you will find that Christ's destiny through your life will include the spiritual and practical application of His type of love to others.
As Christians on the greatest adventure imaginable, we are called to have courage. Philippians 1:20 states, "I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death." (NIV)
As such, the journey of unlocking your Godly destiny presses you to constantly embrace the discomfort of change, which is an act of courage. Changing from glory to glory means going from a known state to an unknown state by faith. It is the scariest and greatest life you could ever have - so be of good cheer - as you discover, unlock, and live your Godly destiny. In this video, Margie Warrell will encourage you to have the courage to embrace change. And in doing this you may find yourself to be just a little more Christlike than you were.
In this video, Paul Keith Davis speaks about the heart of a champion. Sharing from the story of the winning horse of the Triple Crown, Secretariat, he encourages us that our day to be champions has come. Upon his death Secretariat was found to have an enlarged heart. The horse's heart was 2.5 times larger than the average heart, but it was healthy. The Lord is giving us grace to live our destiny with clean, healthy hearts that have a enlarged capacity to love.
How would it change the way you love others if you had a heart with enlarged capacity? How much more important would it be to learn how to love ourselves and others as the Lord loves us?
In this video, Jentezen Franklin speaks about coming to know the Lord as "Jehovah Jireh," or "God Will Provide." Jentezen describes the special circumstance in the Bible where God revealed Himself as Jehovah Jireh.
We must not be content with anything less than fulfilling and walking in the fullness of the purposes of God. True Christian life involves setting aside our own agendas and our desires to instead follow Him completely. We must take up the Cross of Christ - by living completely for Him every day. When we do, we will live far better than we ever could by our own devices. Could it be that one of the greatest acts of love is to help another person deeply engage their Godly destiny? To this end, have you ever wondered how you might help others engage their Godly destiny? Well, here are a few refrigerator tips you can use to help others discover, unlock, and live their Godly destiny:
The roots of destiny engagement include:
How can you do this? By:
And, as a coach and leader, what can you do to ensure those you seek to help engage their destiny and the collective destiny of the group with which they live, work, and play? Well, this is where you must take the steps outlined above and use your own creativity, experience, and maturity to guide and lead. Remember, you are ultimately leading them toward Jesus and His destiny for them, focused upon the City that God is building. As you disciple others with an understanding of the roots of engagement, you will experience the joy of equipping and releasing the saints for the work of the ministry. In part three of the "Doing the Right Thing" series, we hear Donovan Campbell discuss how we can know between right and wrong. He discusses the foundation of understanding morality as taught by the Marine Corps. Have you ever wondered how Marines use virtuous character to overcome selfish desires and instead create a culture of honor and nobility - and a willingness to die for others?
Donovan Campbell's provides a brief, yet moving, presentation of what it really means to die to self and live for Christ. It will challenge you to consider how you live. And in doing so, it answers the question of whether you can do what is right - and the conclusion is - absolutely - yes. To unlock your destiny, you must begin to internalize a Christian worldview, which must include a discipline to do what is right. Your destiny awaits- so do right and live well, and be Christ to this hurting and morally confused world.
Is a return to virtuous living possible? John Stonestreet tackles this issue in part four of "Doing the Right Thing."
He asks us whether we should add rules, incentives, education, or look deep within to achieve virtuous living. Ultimately, he rejects all of these ideas as the way for a society to return to virtuous living. Rather, he suggests that whether the battle for a virtuous society is won or lost, it is engaged by those who follow the long road of Godly obedience. He informs us that virtue comes from the heart and is a muscle that must be exercised. By connecting love with habits, we begin to unlock our personal and societal destiny. |
