Teaching Your Kids to be In the World, Not of It by Charlie Kirk

10/13/2025

In the following video, "Teaching Your Kids to be In the World, Not of It, Charlie Kirk’s Speech at Educators’ Summit 2025," Charlie teaches Christian educators and parents about the essentials of learning.  The highlights of the video are as follows:

1.) The Greatest Failure of Modern Education is Values-Neutral Education, teaching students skills but not values.
2) How to Fix it:
There are three questions to teach about with a Biblical worldview as a teacher or parent...

How did I get here? -  We are created in the image of God
Why am I here? - To love God and love people create disciples of all nations, to know Jesus and make Him known.
Where am I going? Eventually, Heaven, as a born-again believer in Christ Jesus.  (Modern evangelicals spend too much time on this question: spending time being heavenly-focused and not earthly-focused on shaping society and education)

*We must spend most of the time on the second question, because we need to give students action items on what to do. Standing up against evil, family formation, pro-life causes, contesting for your nation, etc.

Key Takeaways:

Most Christians think we are here for social justice. In this way, woke-ism has infiltrated the church and Christian education.

We as evangelicals tend to be heaven-focused, while liberals are Earth-focused.  We are NOT to hide from society; we are to be salt and light.

1.) In Education - you must unabashedly reject the modern lie of values-neutral education.
2.) As a Christian educator, do not be afraid to talk about the nation- America, liberty, freedom, the Constitution, our history, so kids don't eventually fall prey to liberalism and/or agnostic Christianity.
3.) Equip Christian youth to know why they are here and what they're fighting for, so they are prepared to respond to the adult, real-world pressures to conform to Godless causes and philosophies.

We are seeing destabilizing deconstructionist, post-modernism in schools and society, affecting our youth- these are gateway drugs to undermine the authority of Scripture, eventually leading to nihilism.

There is tremendous importance in discussing every social issue in schools, as it is age-appropriate through the Biblical worldview.

Our prayer for you is that you will prayerfully consider these tenets of the importance of education with a Biblical worldview, and that it is values-based and apply it to your students and children, so that you may impact the world with the Kingdom of God, in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Relevant Scripture: "Teach me knowledge and good judgment, for I trust your commands." -Psalm 119:66 (NIV)

Our Prayer for educators is that they would learn to engage their students in the learning process through largely unconventional means, whereby students can become inspired and engrossed in learning. Educational Predictions for the Year 2060 by Khan Academy

3/14/2016

In this video, Khan Academy lays out a vision for what education will look like in the year 2060.  They predict that:
  • Education will move from a passive classroom model to an active, discovery, and creative-based model.
  • The traditional K-12 progression followed by 4 year college will be replaced by exploratory paths which focus on achieving understanding in various interests unbound by traditional structures.
  • Teachers will move from being lecturers to being tutors, coaches and mentors.
  • 99% of the world's population will achieve literacy.

Regardless of whether you agree with this particular vision or not, can you see how having a compelling vision of the future of education is compelling and important?  Our prayer is that God would raise up those with a destiny to serve and improve the world of education, such that worldwide literacy leads to everyone having an opportunity to discover, unlock and live their Godly destiny.

An Educational Revolution by Great Hearts Academies

3/9/2016

According to Great Hearts Academies, their mission and vision for education "is to create a national network of academically rigorous, classical, liberal arts primary, middle, and high schools. This network will prepare its graduates for success in the most highly selective colleges and universities in the nation, and to be leaders in creating a more philosophical, humane, and just society. Great Hearts’ public academies surpass the best public and private school options in academic outcomes, student moral formation, and comprehensive extra-curricular participation.

The ultimate goal of the organization is to graduate “great-hearted” young men and women who possess a sense of destiny and purpose that is directed to the service of the greater good.  By engaging in an intense and formative dialogue with the Great Books and Ideas of Western Culture, by conversing with peers and teachers who also seek the truth, students come to understand more fully what it means to be a human being."

Could your Godly destiny be connected to helping the institutions of learning experience a revolution such that "young men and women are equipped with a sense of destiny and purpose?"  May those called to lead the classical liberal arts educational revolution come forth - in Jesus' Mighty Name.

The Key to Success? Grit by Angela Lee Duckworth

2/10/2016

According to TED, "Leaving a high-flying job in consulting, Angela Lee Duckworth took a job teaching math to seventh graders in a New York public school. She quickly realized that IQ wasn't the only thing separating the successful students from those who struggled. Here, she explains her theory of "grit" as a predictor of success."

Whether you are purposed by God to teach others, or if you need to roll up your sleeves and learn something to activate your own Godly destiny, having "grit" is an indispensable character trait.  Not only do you need "grit" for the destiny journey that lies ahead of you, but you should also help equip and release others along the way with the raw determination to never quit.  We must develop Godly "grit" such that we are able to press through any discomfort to live our Godly destiny.

Why We Believe a Classical Education is Relevant by Classical Prep School

2/3/2016

This video will introduce you to the underlying ideas associated with why many schools are adopting the classical liberal arts education.  This type of education is designed to teach students how to learn and how to think critically.  Additionally, we learn how free and open societies require a people with a classical education built upon a character education to be long enduring.

Christians, empowered by the Holy Spirit, have an opportunity to lead the way in reforming the educational system to be highly effective at building and maintaining strong societies.  Are you called by God to transform the world of education?  If so, then we need you to discover, unlock, and live your Godly destiny.

In this video, Rebekah Hagstrom who is headmaster of Liberty Classical Academy (LCA), shares the value of a classical education. Rebekah received a B.S. in communication disorders (summa cum laude) and an M.A. in speech pathology from the University of Minnesota. She and her husband, Peter, have four children. Rebekah worked at Regions Hospital as a speech pathologist for over 10 years. She also taught adult education classes at her church, served on its board, and spoke at various women's ministry events.

In raising their children, Peter and Rebekah experienced public education, private college prep schools, and private religious schools. With these schools falling short of their educational expectations, Rebekah founded Liberty Classical Academy.

Please kindly notice that Rebekah saw a need and acted as salt and light.  As such, she is living in her Godly destiny and is pioneering the value of a classical education and exploring its benefits in producing citizens who know history, understand logic, are well rounded, and can speak and debate respectfully.

We pray that this information will help you accomplish great things in the educational industry as you discover, unlock, and live your Godly destiny.

In this video, 2Revolutions explains the current state of our educational system and offers a new way of thinking about how to help young people embrace a lifetime of learning by "learning how to learn."  They suggest five ideas for integration into future learning models.  They include:
  • Personalization - fit to each learner.
  • Learner-Driven - to let kids own their learning.
  • Application - to let kids learn by doing.
  • Cost-Effective - to be feasible at scale.
  • Tech-Enabled - to leverage technologies that work.

As Christians, we are called to be salt and light.  That is to say, as those with a destiny to positively transform the world of education arise and shine, the world will experience an aspect of the love of Christ.  If your destiny includes affecting the educational industry, then we pray that your discover, unlock and live your Godly destiny.
