Could it be that one of the greatest acts of love is to help another person deeply engage their Godly destiny?  To this end, have you ever wondered how you might help others engage their Godly destiny?  Well, here are a few refrigerator tips you can use to help others discover, unlock, and live their Godly destiny:

The roots of destiny engagement include:
  • Helping someone understand that they are part of something bigger than themselves-  a collective destiny: The City that God is Building.
  • Helping someone “feel” a sense of belonging.
  • Help someone see how their actions and contributions make an impact.

How can you do this?  By:
  • Offering perspective – set their view on the big picture.
  • Inspiring a sense of destiny and purpose – use storytelling to explain what is being done and why.
  • Connecting people – ensuring that everyone involved sees how they personally connect to the success of a destiny achieved.

And, as a coach and leader, what can you do to ensure those you seek to help engage their destiny and the collective destiny of the group with which they live, work and play?  Well, this is where you must take the steps outlined above and use your own creativity, experience and maturity to guide and lead.  Remember, you are ultimately leading them toward Jesus and His destiny for them, focused upon the City that God is building.

As you disciple others with an understanding of the roots of engagement, you will experience the joy of equipping and releasing the saints for the work of the ministry. It is quite likely you will discover, unlock and live your own Godly destiny in the process.   Have fun with it!

A Matter of Life and Death by David Stevens

Does every human being have a right to dignity and life?  Do some people exist for the use of others?  What does it mean to be human?

In part five of "Doing the Right Thing," David Stevens shares that we are made in God's image and as such we have a stewardship responsibility over creation.  Additionally, we have self-awareness, rationality, the ability to love and be loved, and the ability to communicate.  These are but a few of the things that make us human.

So, how do we convince those who reject God and Scripture that it means something to be human - that human life must be respected and treated with dignity?

David tackles these hard questions by comparing the idea of dignity and life in contrast to the alternatives.

It is fair to say that Godly destiny starts with the life which is so precious that it must be treated with dignity in all situations.  The purposes of God are inherent in all life - whether we perceive it or not.

If We Know What Is Right Can We Do It? - by Donovan Campbell

In part three of the "Doing the Right Thing" series, we hear Donovan Campbell discuss how we can know between right and wrong.  He discusses the foundation of understanding morality as taught by the Marine Corps.  Have you ever wondered how Marines use virtuous character to overcome selfish desires and instead create a culture of honor and nobility - and a willingness to die for others?

Donovan Campbell's provides a brief, yet moving, presentation of what it really means to die to self and live for Christ.  It will challenge you to consider how you live.  And in doing so, it answers the question of whether you can do what is right - and the conclusion is - absolutely - yes.

In order to unlock your destiny, you must begin to internalize a Christian worldview, which must include a discipline to do what is right.  Your destiny awaits- so do right and live well, and be Christ to this hurting and morally confused world.

We have a real opportunity to be the salt and light for our society.  Are you willing to become a student of Christ and be the solution to a lost and hurting world's problems?  God has made you for greatness and by standing up for the truth, and for what is right, you begin the process of redeeming your culture.

Your destiny is critically important and is your responsibility to care about, discover, unlock and live.  Most of us will live our lives in the marketplace and at our daily jobs, but if we live with purpose, then a type of joy unspeakable will be our reward.

Allow this highly enlightened panel to broaden your perspective and encourage you to care deeply about living your Godly destiny.  You matter and your purpose has eternal significance.

Return to Virtuous Living by John Stonestreet

Is a return to virtuous living possible?  John Stonestreet tackles this issue in part four of "Doing the Right Thing."

He asks us whether we should add rules, incentives, education, or look deep within to achieve virtuous living.  Ultimately he rejects all of these ideas as the way for a society to return to virtuous living.  Rather, he suggests that whether the battle for a virtuous society is won or lost, it is engaged by those who follow the long road of Godly obedience.

He informs us that virtue comes from the heart and is a muscle which must be exercised.  By connecting love with habits, we begin to unlock our personal and societal destiny.

The Roots of Moral Authority by David Naugle

In part two of the "Doing the Right Thing" presentation, we hear from David Naugle who explains the philosophical ideas of what constitutes morality.  Though many thinkers try to separate God from any discussion of morality, David Naugle does a great job of teaching us how morality is based upon a moral knowledge of God and Jesus Christ.

Sure, this is a deep intellectual presentation, but being grounded in our faith requires that we study.  So, dig in and let your roots go deep in your understanding of why moral knowledge and truth are completely dependent on God.  And as such, may you see how your Godly purpose is also grounded in this idea of "Doing the Right Thing."

Please kindly consider the role of Christianity in your nation.  What does it mean for a society to have a moral framework from which to operate?  Do you believe that societies with a Judeo-Christian culture are more or less likely to promote freedom and justice for all?

Let this brief trailer stimulate your thinking as you seek to align yourself with God's heart for a moral and just nation.  Additional presentations regarding this subject follow.

Our hope is that this series will help you better perceive your own role in society and then occupy it with the full authority, grace and blessing you were born for.  Understanding the need for a collective ethic, morality and holiness is an important part of being Christlike and is critical for walking in your purpose.
